Venus Versa Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is an FDA-approved treatment to remove hair from anywhere on the body. Energy from the Venus Versa IPL targets the hair follicle while in the growth cycle, inhibiting future hair growth without damaging the surrounding skin. Because hairs are in variable stages of the growth cycle, treatment requires 6-12 treatments every 6-8 weeks.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

Please arrive to your treatment appointment with the area you would like to be treated shaved within the last 24 hours and wear loose fitting clothing. DO NOT pluck, tweeze or wax the area for several days to weeks before your treatment and refrain from using depilatories (creams to dissolve the hair like Nair®). Avoid sun exposure before the treatment and plan to avoid sun exposure after the treatment.

ABOUT YOUR TREATMENT

Hair removal treatment can be uncomfortable but are usually well tolerated and patients are assured we will make the treatment as comfortable as possible. Most often, the sensation of the treatment is described as a series of zaps or a rubber band snap on the skin. Treatments are 30-60 minutes depending on the of area(s) to be treated. Dependent on the area to be treated, you may be asked to remove clothing. Please be assured we will keep you as comfortable and covered as possible.

ESTIMATED DOWN TIME

Patients can return to normal activity immediately following the treatment. The skin may appear red and feel dry.

POST TREATMENT

Patients are required to avoid sun exposure following the treatment.

SUN DAMAGE / HYPERPIGMENTATION CORRECTION

A photofacial uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to deliver a strong infrared light that seeks dark areas in the skin. It is targeted to the exact depth necessary to treat the specific areas of concern such as sun spots, liver spots, freckles, spider veins and can also reduce signs of rosacea and aging. Photo rejuvenation also stimulates the production of new elastin. Loss of elastin is the key factor in the signs of aging, enlarged pores and poor texture of the skin. IPL can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, back and legs. Most often, a series of 3-6 treatments every four weeks is necessary for best results. Depending on the severity of your concern, more treatment sessions may be recommended.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT:

Patients are required to avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks before and for the duration of your treatments.

Please arrive for your treatment without makeup.

Avoid the use of retinol products for 2 weeks before your treatment.

Patients are required to avoid sun exposure following the treatment. Daily sunscreen is necessary to protect the treated skin and improve results of the treatment. Do not use exfoliators or retinol for at least two weeks following your photofacial.

Radiofrequency Skin Tightening/Body Contouring/Cellulite Reduction

SKIN TIGHTENING AND COLLAGEN PRODUCTION

MP2 Polar™ treatment combines radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to increase collagen production in the skin and therefore induce tightening of skin laxity. A warming device is massaged over the desired area of treatment for several minutes. There is no pain experienced and the treatment is in fact rather relaxing, like a hot stone massage. 6-8 treatments every week is recommended followed by a repeat treatment every 3 months to maintain results.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT:

Drink plenty of water (at least two liters) in the days before your treatment for best results. Avoid alcohol the night before and avoid caffeine the day of your treatment to ensure optimal hydration. Avoid the use of exfoliators and retinol and other facial treatments two weeks before your treatment.

ABOUT YOUR TREATMENT:

Please arrive without makeup on and plan to spend 30-60 minutes to complete your treatment depending on the number of areas to be treated. Some plumpness to the skin is noticed immediately but results typically appear after 3-4 treatments.

ESTIMATED DOWN TIME:

NONE! You can go back to normal activities immediately following each treatment. Redness of the skin immediately following the treatment will rapidly resolve.

POST-TREATMENT

Continue to maintain your body’s hydration by drinking plenty of water and always use sunscreen daily.

Viva’s nano-fractional ablative radio frequency device is the next generation in skin resurfacing and facial remodeling by combining radio frequency and smart scan technology to effectively treat textural irregularities, scarring, wrinkles and stretch marks on the face and the body. Venus Viva™ skin resurfacing treatments work with tiny pins that safely deliver heat (via Nano-Fractional Radio Frequency) through the which the body naturally heals on its own. For best results, 3-6 treatments every 4 weeks is recommended, but more treatments may be necessary to achieve desired results. One treatment every 6 months is suggestive to maintain results. Treatment results are further enhanced by combining Venus Viva™ treatment with Diamond Polar™ skin tightening.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT:

Skin resurfacing with Venus Viva™ is an aggressive skin treatment with results comparable to CO2 lasers. Avoid the use of retinol 2 weeks before your treatment.

ABOUT YOUR TREATMENT:

Please arrive with no makeup. Numbing gel will be applied to the areas to be treated to ensure a comfortable treatment. Visits are 60-90 minutes dependent on which areas are to be treated and to allow time for the numbing gel to work.

ESTIMATED DOWN TIME:

The skin will feel dry and hot and appear red and possible slightly swollen following the treatment. This may persist for up to 24 hours but can last several days depending on how aggressive the treatment is. It is recommended to complete the treatment at least a week before any special events or important work commitments where it would be social uncomfortable to attend if your skin is inflamed.

POST-TREATMENT:

Following the Venus Viva™ skin resurfacing treatment, patients are required to stay out of the sun. No sunscreen or makeup may be applied for at least 24 hours. Our Skin care specialist may include Lira Clinical products with your treatment package to enhance recovery, decrease inflammation and protect the skin. Do not engage in exercise, hot showers, hot tubs, etc. the day of the treatment. Consider microdermabrasion two weeks after your skin resurfacing treatment to boost exfoliation of the skin.
